About

Hi, I’m Elle—creator of Dwell Delightfully and an everyday home cook who believes food is more than just a recipe. It’s a memory, a moment, a way to slow down and reconnect.

If you’ve ever lit a candle before starting dinner, added a flower to the table just because, or found peace in the quiet rhythm of stirring a pot—you’re in the right place.

How This All Began

I didn’t grow up in a chef’s kitchen. My meals weren’t plated like artwork, and I wasn’t taught to fold napkins a certain way. But I did grow up around warmth. Food was a quiet love language—unspoken but deeply felt. My grandmother’s cinnamon rice pudding, my mother’s buttery scones, and the way the house smelled when it rained and bread was baking. That’s the real origin of Dwell Delightfully.

Years later, while juggling deadlines, city noise, and a life that moved too fast, I started craving that same warmth again. Not just in food, but in the way I lived. I wanted meals that weren’t rushed. Days that felt intentional. A home that felt held together not by perfection, but by presence.

That’s how this blog was born—in a moment between chaos and calm. A desire to help others return to something softer, slower, and more meaningful through the everyday act of cooking.

A Little About Me

I live in a light-filled cottage just outside the city with my husband, a sleepy tabby named Clementine, and an ever-growing collection of wooden spoons.

My favorite things? Slow Sunday breakfasts, old jazz records, handwritten notes, and the first sip of coffee when the house is still quiet. I believe that home is a feeling, not a style—and that a meal made with love (even if it’s simple) always tastes better.

Also, yes—I really do light a candle before I cook. Every single time.
