Ingredients

  • 3 whole vanilla beans (Grade B for stronger vanilla flavor)
  • ½ cup vegetable glycerin (alcohol-free alternative for homemade vanilla paste)
  • ¼ cup filtered water
  • 1 tsp arrowroot powder (optional thickener for better consistency)

Instructions

  1. Slice the vanilla beans lengthwise and scrape out the seeds, then chop the pods into small pieces
  2. In a small saucepan, combine the seeds, pods, glycerin, and filtered water over low heat
  3. Simmer for 5 to 7 minutes while stirring to release the rich vanilla flavor
  4. Whisk in arrowroot powder if you prefer a thicker vanilla paste consistency
  5. Remove from heat, allow to cool slightly, then blend until smooth
  6. Transfer the mixture to a sterilized glass jar and store in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months

Notes

  • For a coconut-flavored twist, replace glycerin with coconut syrup
